Deputy Minister of National Defense Receives Indonesian Army Delegation

(LPAN) On July 6, 2026, at the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR, Lieutenant General Saychai Kommasith, Deputy Minister of National Defense and Director General of the General Staff Department of the Lao People's Army, received a courtesy call from Brigadier General Valiant Wicaksono, Vice Assistant for Intelligence to the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Planning division), and his delegation. The courtesy call was held on the occasion of the delegation's official working visit to the Lao PDR from July 7 to 10, 2026.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Saychai Kommasith expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation and highly valued the flourishing cooperation between the two nations and their respective armies. He particularly commended the mutual relations, cooperation, and assistance in military affairs between the two armed forces, which have continuously expanded and strengthened over time.
Brigadier General Valiant Wicaksono expressed his sincere gratitude to Lieutenant General Saychai Kommasith for the warm and friendly hospitality. He also reported the outcomes of the 2nd Academic Exchange Meeting between the Foreign Relations Department of the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao PDR and the Intelligence Department of the Indonesian Army. Furthermore, he reaffirmed his commitment to further consolidating bilateral ties and cooperation to drive development and deepen the relationship between the two nations and armed forces of Indonesia and Laos.
