Medals, Badges, and 5-Year Achievement Certificates presented to Officers and Enlisted Personnel at the GPD

On July 15, 2026, the General Political Department held a ceremony to present medals, badges, and 5-year achievement certificates of commendation to military officers and enlisted personnel. The ceremony was chaired by Major General Deuansavanh Sayphimkhamprathoum, Deputy Director General of the General Political Department. The event was attended by retired senior officers, former leadership of the Ministry of National Defense, leadership of the General Political Department, unit commanders, and key personnel from various departments across the General Political Department.
During the ceremony, Brig. Gen. Amphone Soukvixay, Political Chief Commander of the General Political Department, passed the Presidential Decree and the Prime Minister’s Decree on presenting Labor Medals, Labor Badges, and Government Certificates of Commendation to officers and enlisted personnel of the General Political Department. These awards recognize their outstanding contributions to national defense and security operations over the past 5 years (2019–2024), on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army (January 20, 1949–January 20, 2024). These achievements represent a significant contribution to national safeguarding and development. Specifically, the awards included the 1st Class Labor Medal presented to 14 personnel, the 2nd Class Labor Medal to 190 personnel, the 3rd Class Labor Medal to 223 personnel, the Labor Badge to 397 personnel, and Government Certificates of Commendation to 188 personnel.
On this occasion, Major General Deuansavanh Sayphimkhamprathoum expressed his high praise and commendation to all recipients. He urged them to preserve revolutionary traditions and continue training and developing officers and enlisted personnel to remain steadfast in political ideology, strong in organizational structure, loyal to the nation and the new regime, and faithful to Party ideals. He also emphasized pushing forward political-ideological construction at the grassroots level, strictly maintaining combat readiness regarding both personnel and equipment, and educating personnel to possess patriotism, respect for organization, and love for their units, while consistently promoting self-reliance, self-sufficiency, self-strength, and selflessness for the public good.
