Commendations presented to Personnel Involved in Myanmar Earthquake Relief Mission

(LPAN) On July 10, 2026, the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to present Valor Medals and Certificates of Commendation to personnel who participated in the earthquake relief mission in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. The ceremony was chaired by Major General Vanthong Boddavong, Deputy Director of the General Staff Department. The event was also attended by Brigadier General Bouakham Samavong, Head of the Political Office of the General Staff Department, along with unit commanders and relevant officials.
During the ceremony, Senior Colonel Santi Phetduangsit, Deputy Head of the Political Office of the General Staff Department, read the Ministry of National Defense’s decree on awarding Valor Medals and Certificates of Commendation to officers and enlisted personnel of the Lao People's Army who demonstrated outstanding performance in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief during the earthquake in Kyaukse Township, Mandalay Region, Myanmar. Accordingly, the Ministry of National Defense presented the 2nd Class Valor Medal to 10 personnel, the 3rd Class Valor Medal to 13 personnel, and the Ministry of National Defense’s Certificate of Commendation to 16 personnel.
