MOD announces promotion rank to military personnel

(LPAN) On June 24, 2026, the Ministry of National Defense (MOD) held a ceremony to announced the promotion rank to military personal from lieutenant colonel to colonel, chaired by Lt. Gen. Vongsone Inpanphim, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Political Department (GPD), there were Party- Command Committee, officers, combatants, and related sections participate in.
Maj. Gen. Sengmanivone Khammany, Deputy Director of the General Political Department passed the agreement of the Prime Minister's Decree of the Lao PDR on the promotion of military officers from the rank of lieutenant colonel to colonel. The Prime Minister issued a decree approving the 35 military officers newly promoted Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel.
This occasion, the president expressed his deep appreciation and highlighted several significant challenges to the newly promoted officers, and also emphasizing them to uphold their responsibilities in their respective field, as a good model in performing their duties, and continue training themselves to possess strong political qualities, contribute significantly to develop their units, and complete the political tasks assigned and to fulfill political duties in the new period.
