GSD announces promotion to its military personnel

(LPAN) On May 12, 2026, the General Staff Department (GSD) announced the promotion for military personnel at the GSD Club, Presided by Maj. Gen. Vanthong Bouttavong, Deputy Director of GSD, there were Party- Command Committee, officers, combatants, and related sections participate in.
Brig. Gen. Bouakham Samavong, Head of Political Office of GSD passed the agreement of the Ministry of Defense and the agreement of the General Political Department on the promotion of military officers in the General Staff Department. The 249 officers were promoted. Captain to Major 106 officer, Lieutenant to Captain 102 officer, Sub-Lieutenant to Lieutenant 22 officer and Warrant Officer to Sub-Lieutenant 19 officer.
This occasion, the president expressed his deep appreciation and highlighted several significant challenges to the newly promoted officers, and also emphasizing them to uphold their responsibilities in their respective field, as a good model in performing their duties, and continue training themselves to possess strong political qualities, contribute significantly to develop their units, and complete the political tasks assigned.
