Air Defense Department Inspects Preparations for the Establishment of New Air Defense Units

(LPAN)On March 24, 2024, Colonel Phoukham Khamthongbay, Deputy General Director of the Air Defense Department of the General Staff, led a delegation to inspect the readiness for the official establishment of an Air Defense Company and an Air Defense Section at the Huaphan Provincial Military Headquarter. The delegation was welcomed by Brigadier General Khammuang Khotvongkhoun, Military Head Commander of the Huaphan Provincial Military Headquarter.
This initiative follows the national strategy to modernize and strengthen the Lao People's Army, specifically focusing on the growth and specialized capabilities of the Air Defense Corps in the new era. During the visit, relevant sections presented readiness reports and engaged in candid discussions to align on various operational tasks. All parties reached a consensus on several key issues to ensure that plans progress effectively and that the official establishment ceremony can proceed in the near future.
